32 student councilors joined some faculty Sunday, November 22, from 8:00 am-7:00 p.m. at the South Congregational Church to participate in the Thanksgiving Angel Turkey Distribution. This year turkey baskets were prepared and distributed for over 1500 families in the area.
The Reid Student Council worked all day long, with only quick hot chocolate breaks, to carry food for recipients, help stock tables, sort canned goods and walk heavy boxes to the cars that surrounded the church. All of the students, up to 7:00 pm, were eager to help and found ways to be involved even when the lines never seemed to end and they couldn't see beyond the pyramids of green beans.
In addition to Reid's volunteer efforts, the Student Council also presented a check to the Thanksgiving Angels from the sale of the Feathers. They took great pride in sharing their stories about selling paper feathers for 25¢ and raising close to $800.00. Thank you to everyone for your support of this endeavor.
